My story
Speed: I know a thing or two about it!
Hello, my name is Maxence,
I am 16 years old and I play squash every day.
I am currently in my first year of general studies at INSEP where I live. I leave the campus twice a day to train at the Joinville club (94).
With squash making its Olympic debut in 2028 and the U19 World Championships approaching, my motivation to qualify for both competitions is sky-high. There's still a long road ahead with many hurdles to overcome, but I'm capable and I'm determined.

Squash and I have a long history: I have always loved to move and my parents, who were also players, made me try this sport from the age of 5.
I then logically began my first group lessons at the Jardin du Squash club in Saint-Denis, Réunion.
What I like about the club is the atmosphere, training and competing as a team.
Training sessions followed one after another to prepare for my first national competitions, such as the French youth championships.
And the title in the under-13 category during my second participation with a beautiful gold medal!

I really enjoy participating in training camps and competitions in France and Europe. It's an opportunity for me to test myself at a high level and to reconnect with friends I don't see as often.

French and European junior tournaments are very important in my progress to see where I stand against the best.
Each year, four to five mandatory trips have to be made from Reunion Island.
To take things to the next level, my family and I decided to move to the Paris region to have more opportunities for interaction and easier travel.
